Bulldogs go to 15-1 with sweep of Nunez, La.

GOODMAN – The Holmes Community College Bulldogs swept the Nunez Community College Pelicans here Sunday, 3-2, in nine innings and 8-7 in game two.

With the wins, the Bulldogs improved to 15-1 overall. Holmes host East Central Saturday in the MACJC opener at 1/4 p.m.

In game one, Cole Johnson knocked in Jonathan Evans for the win in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Nate Oswalt picked up the win on the mound. He went one inning and gave up one hit with one strikeout. Anthony Fidanza started the game and went five innings and gave up two runs on three hits with eight strikeouts and four walks. Steven Lacey went three innings for the Bulldogs.

Matt Warren and Evans each had two hits with Evans adding a double.

In game two, Walker Yuille hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth to drive in Bryland Skinner for the win. R.J. Pierce picked up the win. Albert Hughes started the game while Oswalt and Dalton Massingill each saw action on the hill.

Jordan Szush and Cole Johnson each had two hits. Jaylen Armstrong added a triple while Taj Porter and Hunter Dykes each doubled.
