Bulldogs split two games with Itawamba

FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs picked up a doubleheader split with the Itawamba Community College Indians on Wednesday falling 8-0 in game one and winning 7-3 in game two.

The Bulldogs went to 4-4 in the MACJC. Holmes will play Hinds on Friday in Raymond at 3/6 p.m. before traveling to Northwest on Tuesday at 3/6 p.m.

In game one, Nate Oswalt suffered the loss. He went five innings and gave up five runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and four walks. Kameron Ferguson and Chris Guthrie also pitched in the game.

Albert Hughes led the Bulldogs with a double.

In game two, Dalton Massingill went six innings and picked up the win. He gave up three runs on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Steven Lacey picked up the save in one inning of work. He had one strikeout.

Anthony Fidanza led the Bulldogs with three hits including a double while Bryland Skinner had two hits. Taj Porter added a two-run homerun for the Bulldogs.
