Three Bulldogs receive team awards following the season

GOODMAN --- Three Holmes Community College Bulldog baseball players received team awards following the season. Jaylen Armstrong of Southaven received the Best Offensive Award, Steven Lacey of Canton received the Most Valuable Player Award and Jordan Szush of Thibodaux, La. received the Best Defensive Award.

Armstrong, who played centerfield for the Bulldogs, led the team in hitting with a .396 average including 40 hits with one double, five triples and three homeruns with 25 RBI. He scored 33 runs.

Lacey, who served as the Bulldogs' closer, had a 1.92 earned run average. He pitched 28 1/3 innings and gave up six runs on 22 hits with 12 walks and 38 strikeouts.

Szush, who played shortstop for the Bulldogs, batted .309 with 43 hits with three doubles and one homerun with 22 RBI. He scored 37 runs. He had 172 defensive chances and had 60 putouts with 102 assists.
