Bulldogs split with Wallace St. and MUW

SELMA, Ala. --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Saturday with Wallace State Community College winning the first game, 8-3, and losing a heartbreaker, 9-8.

In game one, Matthew Koch picked up the win. He went 5 2/3 innings and gave up two runs with five strikeouts and three walks. Nate Oswalt went 1 1/3 innings and gave up one run on two hits with one strikeout and one walk.

Jaylen Armstrong, Cole Drake and Tommy Easley each had two hits in the game with Easley adding a double.

In game two, Oswalt suffered the loss. He went 2/3 of an inning and gave up two runs on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Dalton Massingill and Chris Guthrie also pitched in the game. Massingill went two innings and gave up three runs on three hits with two strikeouts and four walks while Guthrie went 3 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

Hunter Dykes, Armstrong, Drake, Logan Toups and Dalton Luke each had two hits in the game with Luke and Peyton Rehm adding a double.

In a doubleheader Friday against MUW, the Bulldogs won the first game, 11-1, and fell, 3-1 in the second game.

In game one, Landon Herbert picked up the win in relief of Jonathan Evans. Herbert went 4 2/3 innings and gave up three hits with one strikeout and one walk. Evans went 1/3 of an inning and gave up one run with two walks.

Alex Frillman led the Bulldogs with three hits including two doubles. Bailey Rademacher, Cole Drake and Austin Telano added two hits with each adding a double each.  Tommy Easley and Logan Toups each added a double.

In game two, Cade Johnson suffered the loss. He went five innings and gave up two runs on three hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Kenneth Moore went two innings and gave up one run on one hit with one strikeout and two walks.

Telano led the Bulldogs with two hits.
