Bulldogs have huge rushing game but fall to Hinds, 41-21

RAYMOND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs racked up 332 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns against Hinds Community College here tonight, but it wasn't enough as the Eagles won the contest, 41-21.

Hinds got on the scoreboard with 12:28 left in the first on a rushing touchdown. The extra point was good.

The Bulldogs answered the score with 6:48 left in the first when Kerrick Ross scored from seven yards out. Luke Moffett's extra point was good, and the game was tied at seven.

Hinds added another touchdown with 1:11 left in the first on a rushing touchdown. The extra point was good, and Hinds led 14-7.

The Bulldogs marched the ball down the field but fumbled it back to Hinds early in the third. Hinds then added a touchdown pass with 9:50 left in the third. The extra point was good, and Hinds led 28-14.

McCauley led the Bulldogs in rushing with 143 yards on 22 carries. Kyren Batey finished with 72 yards on 11 carries, Kerrick Ross had 46 yards on eight carries and Jordan Willis had 31 yards on three carries.

Braxton Bolton, Armonde Crenshaw, Jacquel Honer, Javon James, LaDarrius Knighten, Zak Morris, Justice Robinson, Jonathan Wallace and D'Arrion Washington each had three tackles. Wallace, Washington and Olajahwon Harris each had one tackle for loss while Wallace and Harris each added a sack.
