Bulldogs pick up two wins Louisiana over the weekend

EUNICE, La. --- The No. 13 Holmes Community College Bulldogs improved to 4-1 on the season with two wins over the weekend versus LSU-Eunice on Saturday night and Baton Rouge, La. on Friday night. Holmes defeated LSUE, 83-71, on Saturday night and Baton Rouge, 68-41, on Friday night.

Holmes has the Thanksgiving Week off before playing Southwest Tennessee at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 27.

Versus LSUE on Saturday, Kassim Nicholson and Jaylen Lester each had 19 points while Aaron Johnson added 13. Nicholson had 10 rebounds.

The Bulldogs shot 51.7 percent from the floor, 54.5 percent from three-point line and 57.9 percent from the free throw line.

Versus Baton Rouge on Friday, Tanorrio Ransburgh led the Bulldog with 17 points while Czar Perry had 12, Nicholson 11 and Josiah Lewis had 10. Nicholson had nine rebounds while Johnson had eight.

The Bulldogs shot 40 percent from the floor, 35.3 percent from the three-point line and 66.7 percent from the free throw line.
