GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs finished their non-conference schedule off Tuesday night with a hard-fought 63-57 win over the Louisiana State University at Eunice Bengals.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 8-3 overall. Holmes begins North Division play on Thursday at home versus East Mississippi at 8 p.m. You can watch the game live on holmesccmedia.com.
The Bulldogs led 30-26 at halftime and then outscored LSUE 33-31 in the second half.
Free throws proved to be the difference in the game for the Bulldogs as they shot 95 percent (19-of-20). They shot 44.7 percent from the floor (21-of-47).
Kassim Nicholson led the Bulldogs with 27 points while Czar Perry had 16. Nicholson finished with nine rebounds while Perry had eight.
