Perry scores 37 in division-opening win over East Miss.

GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College sophomore guard Czar Perry scored 37 points including six three-pointers to lead the Bulldogs to a 75-74 win in the North Division opener.

With the win, the Bulldogs went to 9-3 overall. Holmes travels to Mississippi Delta on Monday for an 8 p.m. contest. The Lady Bulldogs then host Coahoma on Thursday in Goodman at 8 p.m.

East Mississippi led at halftime, 31-27, before Holmes outscored East Mississippi 48-43 in the second half for the win.

Perry was 14-of-21 from the floor, 6-of-9 from the three-point line and 3-of-3 from the free throw line in the game. Tanorrio Ransburgh finished with 14 points while Kassim Nicholson had 12. Winford Ross pulled in 12 rebounds in the game.

The Bulldogs shot 46.6 percent from the floor (27-of-58), 44 percent from the three-point line (11-of-25) and 76.9 percent from the free throw line (10-of-13).
