Bulldogs finish first half of division schedule with a 4-2 record

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs finished the first half of the North Division schedule off with a 4-2 record with a 59-49 win over the Itawamba Community College Indians here tonight.

With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 12-5 overall. Holmes returns to action next Monday versus East Mississippi in Scooba at 7:30 p.m. Holmes then hosts Mississippi Delta on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m.

The Indians led the Bulldogs 30-27 at halftime, but the Bulldogs outscored the Indians, 32-19, in the second half to pull out the win.

The Bulldogs shot 42 percent from the floor (21-of-50) and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line (12-of-14).

Kassim Nicholson led the Bulldogs with 17 points while Winford Ross had 12. Czar Perry had nine points while Jaylen Lester had eight and Josiah Lewis had seven. Nicholson pulled in 12 rebounds while Ross pulled in 10.
