CAMDEN, Ark. --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell to 1-1 season after losing a heartbreaker here 72-71 versus Southern Arkansas University Tech Thursday night.
Holmes travels to Jones Monday at 7:30 p.m. before returning home on Thursday for the home opener vs. Hinds at 7:30 p.m.
SAU Tech led 31-26 at halftime, and the Bulldogs outscored the Rockets 45-41 in the second half, but it wasn't enough.
Kaleb Higgins led the Bulldogs in scoring with 19 points while Tyler Williams had 19 and Jaylen Lester had 12. Josiah Lewis had 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs.
As a team, Holmes shot 39.7 percent from the floor, 52.9 percent from the three-point line and 70.6 percent from the free throw line.
