ELLISVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell here Monday night to the Jones College Bobcats, 87-75, in a non-division contest.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 1-2 overall. Holmes hosts Hinds on Thursday night in Goodman at 7:30 p.m.
Jones led the entire game until the second half when the Bulldogs took a one-point lead with 11:11 to play in the game. Jones led 42-34 at halftime.
Tyler Williams led the Bulldogs in scoring with 21 points while Jaylen Lester had 16 and Kaleb Higgins had 15. Lester hit four three-pointers while Higgins had three. Williams led the Bulldogs with seven rebounds.
Holmes shot 46.9 percent from the floor (30-of-64) and 72.7 percent from the free throw line (8-of-11).
