Bulldogs knock off East Central Warriors, 85-81

DECATUR --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs improved to 4-3 on the season here last night with an 85-81 win over the East Central Community College Warriors.

Holmes travels to Baton Rouge on Thursday and Delgado on Friday at 7:30 p.m. to finish out this week's action.

The Warriors led by as many as nine points in the first half, 33-24, before the Bulldogs battled back before halftime to take a one-point lead, 36-35. Holmes outscored the Warriors, 49-46, in the second half to pull out the win.

Tyler Talley and Tyler Williams each led the Bulldogs with 16 points while Kaleb Higgins had 15 and Josiah Lewis had 11. Lewis led the Bulldogs with seven rebounds.

As a team, the Bulldogs shot 45.2 percent (28-of-62) from the floor and 76.5 percent (26-of-34) from the free-throw line.
