GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs ended the fall semester with a 70-53 win here tonight over the Southwest Tennessee Community College Saluqis.
The Bulldogs return to action on Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m. vs. Southern Arkansas University Tech in Goodman.
Southwest jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the game before the Bulldogs battled back to lead 37-24 at halftime. Holmes then outscored Southwest Tennessee 36-26 in the second half. The Bulldogs led by 27 points in the second half, 62-35.
Tyler Williams led the Bulldogs with 17 points while Josiah Lewis had 12 and Jaylen Lester had 11. Lester hit three three-pointers in the game while Tyler Talley and Jartavia Greer each each had two. Lewis led with 13 rebounds.
Holmes shot 48.1 percent from the floor (26-of-54) and 82.4 percent from the free-throw line (14-of-17).
