MERIDIAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs picked up a 4-2 win over Andrew College here Saturday in the Rush Invitational.
With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 2-6-1 on the season. Holmes hosts Meridian on Wednesday at the Ridgeland Campus at 4 p.m.
Neither team scored in the first half. Chandler Thornton got the scoring started off in the second half and Jorge Ulloa followed him with a goal to put Holmes up 2-1. Brady Jacobs and Andres Mendez had assists on those goals.
Mendez then got a goal for himself as did Jacobs to finish out the scoring at 4-1.
Against Gulf Coast on Sept. 18, the Bulldogs fell 6-0. On Sept. 13, the Bulldogs fell to Hinds, 4-2. Cameron Bell and Jacobs each had goals versus Hinds while Jacobs added an assist. In a match on Sept. 10, the Bulldogs fell 9-0 to LSU-Eunice in Eunice La.
