RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker Wednesday evening here to the Meridian Community College Eagles, 3-2, in double overtime.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 2-7-1 overall. The Bulldogs host Southwest on Friday at 4 p.m. before traveling to Itawamba on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and hosting East Central on Friday at 3 p.m.
Meridian jumped out 1-0 in the match and then scored just before halftime to take a 2-0 lead at the break.
Parker Wood got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the second half in the 65th minute on an assist from Brady Jacobs.
The Bulldogs tied match late on a goal from Alex barker from 40 yards out.
Neither team was able to score in the first overtime. Meridian scored with just two minutes left in the second overtime to pull out the win.
