RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs defeated Oxford College of Emory University, 4-1, here Saturday on the Ridgeland Campus.
Holmes is scheduled to finish the regular season on Thursday on the Ridgeland Campus at 3 p.m. vs. Hinds in the final North Division contest. It'll be Sophomore Day and a White Out game where everyone is asked to wear white to support the Bulldogs.
Oxford-Emory scored in the 24th minute to go up 1-0. Holmes answered with two goals in the first half to take a 2-1 lead at halftime. Cameron Bell scored on a Luis Oseguera assist in the 27th minute and Brady Jacobs scored off a Bell assist in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, Andres Mendez scored an unassisted goal to go up 3-1 in the 52nd minute while Jacobs scored again in the 68th minute on a Chandler Thornton assist to round out the scoring.
