Lady Bulldogs split games on Sunday vs. Southwest and Delta
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games here Sunday vs. Southwest and Mississippi Delta. Holmes fell to Southwest, 6-3, in game one and defeated Delta, 7-0, in game two.
The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to play Arkansas State University at 5:30/7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Williams Baptist College at 1/3 p.m. on Wednesday.
In game one, Mary Clayton Burrell took the loss on the mound. Katie Dana led the Lady Bulldogs with a double. Summer Jordan added a hit.
In game two, Burrell picked up the win. She had seven strikeouts and gave up no runs. Skyler Busbea, Teagun Barnes, Laura Fields and Kailey Chachere each had two hits with Busbea adding a two-run homerun while Chachere adding a double.
