Holmes splits with Northwest Monday 12-1 and 4-2

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games here Monday with Northwest Mississippi Community College falling 12-1 and winning 4-2.

With the split, the Lady Bulldogs went to 9-26 overall and 5-11 in the MACJC. Holmes host Pearl River on Wednesday at 2/4 p.m. and then travel to East Central on Friday.

In game one, Mary Clayton Burrell suffered the loss. She went 4 1/3 innings and gave up 12 runs on nine hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Katie Dana also threw in the game. She gave up one hit in 2/3 of an inning. Laura Fields, Lexie Bounds and Summer Jordan each had one hit.

In game two, Brooklyne Eubanks picked up the win. She went seven innings and gave up two runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and one walk. Summer Jordan, Teagun Barnes, Skyler Busbea, Adyson Mann and Ceilidh Dalton each had one hit.
