GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season here Monday night with a 77-70 win over the Hinds Community College Lady Bulldogs.
With the win, Holmes improves to 1-2 on the season. Holmes travels to Baton Rouge on Friday at 5:30 p.m. before playing LSU-Eunice on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Holmes led Hinds at halftime 34-33. Holmes outscored Hinds 27-18 in the third before Hinds took the fourth period, 19-16, but it wasn't enough as Holmes hung on for the win.
Jekalen Jones led the Bulldogs with 20 points while MiKayla Patton followed with 11 and Brysa Maxwell and T'Onna Sims each finished with 10. Patton had 11 rebounds.
Holmes shot 42.9 percent for the game from the floor.
