Lady Bulldogs move to 2-1 in the North with win over the Lady Tigers

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-8 overall and 2-1 in the North Division after picking up a 63-51 win here Thursday night over the Coahoma Community College Lady Tigers.

The Lady Bulldogs will be on the road for two games next week at Northeast Mississippi Community College and Northwest Mississippi Community College. Holmes plays Northeast on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and Northwest on Thursday at 5 p.m. They return home on Jan. 28 vs. Itawamba at 6 p.m.

Holmes led Coahoma 27-23 after the first period and then outscored the Lady Tigers, 20-15, in the second period to go up 47-38 at halftime. Holmes scored 16 points in the second half to Coahoma's 13 to seal the victory.

Jekalen Jones led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points while MiKayla Patton had 11 and Brysa Maxwell had 10. Jones and Marlaysha Beamon each had seven rebounds.
