GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs finished the first half of the North Division schedule with a 3-3 record after falling, 61-50, here tonight to the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians.
With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 7-10 overall. Holmes returns to action next Monday versus East Mississippi in Scooba at 5:30 p.m. Holmes then hosts Mississippi Delta on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.
Itawamba led 16-10 after the first period and then outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 20-14, in the second period to go up 36-24 at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Indians, 11-10, in the third and both teams scored 15 points in the final period, but it wasn't enough for the Lady Bulldogs to pull out the win.
Brysa Maxwell led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points while Christiana Harris had nine, Jekalen Jones had eight and T'Onna Sims had seven. Jones led with eight rebounds while Harris and Maxwell each had six.
