Lady Bulldogs fall to NE Lady Tigers, 81-70, in double OT

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs took the Northeast Mississippi Community College Lady Tigers of Northeast to two overtimes but fell, 81-70.

With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 8-13 overall and 4-6 in the North. Holmes hosts Northwest in their final home regular season game on Monday at 6 p.m. before closing the regular season out on the road at Itawamba on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Holmes led Northeast, 18-11, after one period, but Northeast retook the lead and led 34-27 at halftime. Both teams scored 14 points in the third before Holmes outscored Northeast, 20-13, to tie the game at 61 at the end of regulation. Both teams scored six points in the first overtime before Northeast outscored Holmes, 14-3, in the second overtime for the 11-point win.

The lady Bulldogs shot 46.2 percent from the floor (12-of-26) and 50 percent from the three-point line (3-of-6).

Myeisha Robinson led the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points while Jekalen Jones and Janae Collier each had 14 and Brysa Maxwell had 13. Maxwell led the Lady Bulldogs with nine rebounds.
