GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs fell 74-49 in a rare Friday afternoon game to the Shelton State Community College Bucs here today.
With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 2-5 overall. Holmes will travel to East Central on Dec. 2 after returning home from the Thanksgiving break.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out an early 7-2 lead before Shelton battled back to lead 19-14 after one period. Shelton outscored Holmes 16-9 in the second to lead 35-23 at halftime. Shelton then outscored the Lady Bulldogs 39-26 in the second half to pull out the win.
Jordyn Manning led the Lady Bulldogs with 17 points while Gabrielle Bunch had nine. Brysa Maxwell led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 rebounds.
