Bunch named MACJC Player of the Week

Holmes Community College freshman guard Gabrielle Bunch has been named the MACJC Player of the Week for her play last week vs. Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia Monday and Itawamba Community College on Thursday night in Goodman.

Bunch of Laurel averaged 30.5 points per game and had 12 rebounds, three assists, four steals and two blocks during the week. She scored 39 points vs. Northwest and hit five three-pointers and then followed that up with 22 points vs. Itawamba with one three-pointer. For the week, she shot 71.4 percent from the floor (25-of-45), 33.3 percent from three (6-of-18) and 71.4 percent from the free throw line (5-of-7).

She'll now be considered for NJCAA National Player of the Week.
