Bio

Terry native Brooke Walker has been named assistant women’s basketball coach at Holmes Community College.

Walker comes to Holmes from Humphreys Academy in Belzoni, where she served as head coach for the junior high and high school girl’s teams in 2020 and 2021. Her junior high squad won the district title while her high school team won the district, North State and A state championships, and she was named the MAIS A Coach of the Year.

She is also currently the head coach of the Team Mississippi 15U team and assistant coach of the Team Mississippi 18U team. She is also an assistant coach with the Mississippi Jazz AAU teams (6th-12th grade). Her teams have won the Nike National Championship twice and has 15 local and regional championships.

Walker played high school basketball at Copiah Academy, where she was named the team MVP, MAIS All-Star and First Team All-Conference. After Copiah, she played two seasons at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

She holds an associate of arts degree from Northwest and a bachelor’s degree in general studies with minors in Sociology, English and Education from the University of Mississippi.
