RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College Women's Soccer team went to 1-0 on the season here today after defeating the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves, 7-0.
The Lady Bulldogs travel to Southwest on Tuesday at 2 p.m. and then travel to Pearl River on Aug. 29 at 2 p.m.
Emma Warren put the Lady Bulldogs up 1-0 in the 15th minute and then scored in the 16th minute off a Mara Baker assist to put Holmes up 2-0.
Courtney Nolan then scored in the 46th minute to put Holmes up 3-0 and then scored again in the 51st minute off a header that was assisted by Warren.
The lead went to 5-0 when Mara Baker scored off an assist from Jessie May in the 65th minute. Miranda Gonzalez then scored off a penalty kick in the 70th minute to move the lead to 6-0. Allison Echols then scored on another penalty kick in the 70th minute to finish the Lady Bulldogs scoring at 7-0.
