Lady Bulldogs improve to 4-0 on the season; 2-0 in the division

SENATOBIA --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the North Division with a 6-0 win over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers today.

The Lady Bulldogs play at Hinds Community College on Friday night at 5 p.m. in another North Division contest. They then host Itawamba on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs scored two goals in the first half and added four in the second half to pull out the shutout victory. Sophomore Madison Deslatte scored three goals in the match while sophomores Kendal Walsh, Britain Welzien and Courtney Turner each had a goal.

Walsh got the scoring started in the first half in the ninth minute off an assist from sophomore Brooke Burrell. Turner then added her goal in the 39th minute off an assist from Deslatte.

In the second half, Welzien scored in the 48th minute off a header set up from a corner from freshman Pepper Ann Filbert. Deslatte then scored in the 51st minute off assists from Welzien and Walsh, in the 55th minute from a Burrell assist and in the 65th minute from an assist from Filbert.

In Ridgeland on Friday at Ridgeland High School, the Lady Bulldogs picked up 2-0 win over the Lady Warriors of East Central Community College.

Walsh scored in the 46th minute off a Deslatte assist to put the Lady Bulldogs on top, 1-0. Sarah Donahoo scored in the 55th minute off a Deslatte assist to end all scoring at 2-0.
