Thompson scores six goals in 15-0 win over Northwest

RIDGELAND --- Freshman Forward Bailey Thompson of Pelahatchie scored six goals Friday to help lead the No. 15 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs to a 15-0 North Division win over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the North Division. Holmes travels to LSU-Eunice on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Four Lady Bulldogs had multiple goals in the match (Thompson, Cariel Ellis, Zoe Ellis and Peyton Montgomery) and three players had multiple assists (C. Ellis, Z. Ellis and Gladney).

Holmes' first goal came in the 5th minute when Thompson scored off an assist from Cariel Ellis. Ellis got her first of two goals on an assist from Zoe Ellis in the 8th minute. She added her second goal in the 12th minute.

Thompson then scored two goals in the 13th minute. The first was assisted by Zoe Ellis while the next goal was unassisted.

Z. Ellis got her first of three goals in the 22nd minute of the match on an assist from Ja'Laycia Brown to make the score 6-0.

Peyton Montgomery got her first of two goals in the 35th minute. Thompson then scored again in the 38th minute and again in the 41st minute before Montgomery scored off an assist from Laney Smith in the 44nd minute. Holmes led 10-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Isabella Wade got on the scoreboard off an assist from Cariel Ellis in the 58th minute. Lainee Chandler scored off an assist from Cameron Gladney in the 59th minute.

Zoe Ellis scored two goals off Cariel Ellis assists in the 64th and 71st minutes. Thompson's final goal came in the 88nd minute off an assist from Gladney.
