Lady Bulldogs win 9-0 over Meridian

RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs used a fourth consecutive hat track from Cariel Ellis and multiple goals from Isabella Wade and Bailey Thompson to pick up a 9-0 win over Meridian Community College here Wednesday.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 10-1 overall. Holmes travels to Itawamba on Tuesday at 2 p.m. before hosting East Central on the Ridgeland Campus on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the 21st minute on a goal from Cameron Gladney on an assist from Cariel Ellis.

Ellis picked up her first goal in the 22nd minute on an assist from Mackenzie Thompson to put Holmes up 2-0. She then scored again in the 32nd minute on an assist from M .Thompson to put the Lady Bulldogs up 3-0.

Isabella Wade got her first goal of the day in the 42nd minute on an assist from Peyton Montgomery. Holmes increased the lead to 5-0 at halftime on B. Thompson's first goal of the day on a Zoe Ellis assist.

B. Thompson's second goal came in the 51st minute on an assist from C. Ellis to make it 6-0. C. Ellis' final goal came in the 63rd minute of the match on another assist from M. Thompson to make it 7-0.

Z. Ellis got on the scoreboard in the 73rd minute on an assist from B. Thompson. The final goal came in the 81st minute on Wade's second goal of the day on an assist from Lainee Chandler.
