MADISON --- The No. 3 ranked Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-0-1 on the season with a 2-1 win here Sunday over the No. 5 ranked Southwestern Illinois College Blue Storm at Madison-Ridgeland Academy.
Holmes is scheduled to play Hinds Community College on Tuesday in Raymond at 5 p.m.
Mackenzie Thompson got the Lady Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the first minute of the contest on an assist from Laney Smith. SWIC tied the match in the 21st minute.
Ravynne Wilson scored on a Thompson assist to put Holmes up 2-1 for good in the 48th minute of the match.
Carly Williams played the first 45 minutes and had one save and gave up one goal while Layken Stockstill went the remaining 45 minutes and had five saves.
