No. 5 Holmes knocks off St. Louis, 11-1

PERKINSTON --- The No. 5 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs knocked off the St. Louis Community College Archers, 11-1, at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College here Friday night.

Holmes will play East Central in Ridgeland on Friday at 1 p.m. in the first MACCC match of the season.

The Lady Bulldogs went up 1-0 early in the match when Jacelyn Russ scored on an assist from Callie McKinney. McKinney then got a goal of her own in the 8th minute on an assist from Lopez to go up 2-0.

Russ scored seconds later on an assist from Jaleyn Hanson to go up 3-0. Lopez scored on a Russ assist in the 15th minute to put Holmes up 4-0. Shelby Thomas scored unassisted in the 22nd minute to put Holmes up 5-1.

Kaci Craft scored in the 37th minute on an assist from McKinney to put Holmes up 6-1 at halftime.

Lopez scored again in the 62nd minute unassisted to put Holmes up 7-1. Hanson scored on a Lopez assist in the 65th minute to put Holmes up 8-1. 

Tailynn Remmel scored in the 67th minute on a Lopez assist to put Holmes up 9-1. Thomas got her second goal in the 71st minute on a Jordan Patrick assist to go up 10-1, and Patrick got an unassisted goal in the final minute to end all scoring at 11-1.
