RAYMOND --- The No. 4 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-0 on the season here Friday with a 7-0 MACCC win over the Hinds Community College Lady Eagles.
Holmes plays Columbia State at noon today in Ridgeland and then will host No. 5 Jones on Tuesday in Ridgeland at 1 p.m.
Jaycelyn Russ got the Lady Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the 17th minute on an assist from Brianna Lopez. Tailynn Remmel then scored on an assist from Shelby Thomas in the 30th minute to put Holmes up 2-0.
Jordan Patrick scored in the 33rd minute on an assist from Kaci Craft to put Hlmes up 3-0. Holmes led 3-0 at halftime.
Callie McKinney got her first of two goals in the 46th minute on an assist from Remmel. McKinney scored in the 57th minute on an assist from Olivia Deslatte to put the Lady Bulldogs up 5-0.
Craft got a goal in the 65th minute on an assist from CC Allatto. Josephine Pittman scored on a penalty kick in the 77th minute to end all scoring at 7-0.
Jordan Bertschler and Karly Murphy each had one save in the match.
