RIDGELAND --- The No. 2 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs opened the 2023 campaign with an 11-0 over the Mississippi University for Women Owls Friday morning.
Holmes hosts Pensacola State College at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Kristen Phillips got her first of two goals to put Holmes up 1-0 in the 15th minute. Olivia Trioblet got her first of two goals in the 22nd minute to put Holmes up 2-0. Brianna Lopez scored her first of two goals in the 22nd minute to put Holmes up 3-0.
Tailynn Remmel scored in the 26th minute to make it 4-0. Bailee Fairley scored in the 37th minute to put Holmes up 5-0. Josephine Pittman scored in the 38th minute to make it 6-0. Lopez scored again in the 42nd minute to make it 7-0 before Grace Mason scored in the 44th minute to end first half scoring at 8-0.
Tribolet scored her second goal in the 58th minute to make it 9-0 before Jaycelyn russ socred to make it 10-0. Phillips' final goal came in the 82nd minue to make it 11-0. Lopez finished with four assists while Fairley had two and K.K. Morris, Sammi Doyle, Stevie Kerns and Tribolet each added one assist.
