RIDGELAND --- The No. 2 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 14-1 overall with an 8-0 win over the LSU-Eunice Lady Bengals here Wednesday.
Holmes hosts East Mississippi at 1 p.m. on Friday in Ridgeland.
Kristen Phillips had another hat trick for the Lady Bulldogs in the match. She scored one goal in the first half on an assist from Olivia Tribolet and scored again in the 63rd on another assist from Tribolet and in the 72nd minute on an assist from Laila Anderson. Sammi Doyle added two goals in the match (one in the 60th minute on an assist from Brianna Lopez and one in the 70th minute on an assist from Tribolet). Tribolet had a goal on an assist from Josephine Pittman in the 77th minute, Jaycelyn Russ had a goal in the 56th minute and Bailee Fairley had a goal on an assist from Lopez in the 53rd minute.
Karly Murphy played 72 minutes in goal while Jordan Bertschler played 18 minutes and had one save.
