TUCSON, Ariz. --- The No. 4 ranked Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs defeated the No. 9 ranked St.Charles Community College Cougars here Tuesday in the 2023 NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Tournament pool play.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 19-2. Holmes will play Jones at 12:30 mountain time on Thursday.
Brianna Lopez got the Lady Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the sixth minute on an assist from Jaycelyn Russ to put Holmes up 1-0.
The Lady Bulldogs scored again in the 9th minute on a goal from Kristen Phillips on an assist from Christina Guzman to go up 2-0.
Holmes answered again quickly in the 10th minute on a goal from K.K. Morris on an assist from Leslie Carrol to put Holmes up 3-0.
The final goal of the match came in the 41st minute when Christina Guzman scored on an assist from Carmen Mason.
Karly Murphy played 90 minutes in goal and had three saves on three shots on goal.
