Bio

Andy Wood begins his eighth season as the Director of Athletics for Holmes Community College and his 27th year at the institution serving also as the Vice President of the Goodman Campus.
 
The Starkville native attended Starkville High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Memphis State University and his master’s from Mississippi State University. He played football for the Memphis Tigers serving as the long snapper. He has additional studies at Mississippi State as well.
 
He began his professional career in 1991 by serving as a graduate assistant at Mississippi State and continued at State as the Football Recruiting Coordinator at Mississippi State until 1994. He then coached at West Point before coming to Holmes Community College in 1995 as an Assistant Football Coach working with the offensive line. He was named Assistant Head Coach in 2002. He also coached tennis from 1999-2006. While a coach, he served as chair of the Physical Education Department and also taught Physical Education classes. He was named Dean of Students/District Coordinator of Student Services in January 2005.
 
Wood and his wife, Donna, live in Kosciusko with their three children, Ethan, Paul and Laura Beth.
