Bulldogs go to 8-0 with sweep over Williams Baptist University

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs swept the Williams Baptist University Eagles here Thursday, 7-3 and 19-1, to improve to 8-0 on the season.

Holmes will play Nunez Saturday at 11/2 p.m. and Williams Baptist at 1/4 p.m. in Goodman.

In game one, Tyler Dobson picked up the win to go to 2-0 on the season. He went 4 1/3 innings and gave up one run on one hit with seven strikeouts and four walks. Payton Hanson, Jaylen Armstrong, Ethan Gowan and Dalton Massingill also pitched in the game with Massingill picking up the save.

Albert Hughes led the Bulldogs with three hits while Anthony Fidanza added a double.

In game two, Eric Jones picked up the win to go to 1-0 on the season. Dylan Ramsay, Taj Porter and Hanson also pitched in the game.

Fidanza and Jordan Szush each had three hits with Fidanza adding a triple while Armstrong and Cole Johnson each had two hits.
