Bulldogs sweep Blue Mountain, 5-1 and 11-3

BLUE MOUNTAIN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to 13-1 here Wednesday with a doubleheader sweep of Blue Mountain, 5-1 and 11-3.

Holmes hosts Nunez Community College, La. on Saturday at 1/4 p.m.

Eric Jones picked up the win for the Bulldogs to go to 2-0 on the season. He went six innings and gave up one run on two hits with seven strikeouts and one walk. Chris Guthrie got the save.

Cole Johnson led the Bulldogs at the plate with two hits. Jaylen Armstrong added a triple while Paul Green added two doubles and Walker Yuille had a double.

In game two, Taj Porter picked up the win. He went three innings and gave up two runs on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Guthrie went the final four innings.

Jordan Szush led the Bulldogs with three hits including a double while Anthony Fidanza, Albert Hughes and Johnson each had two hits. Hughes and Pinnix added a double.
