Bulldogs fall to Meridian, 10-8, in extra innings

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker here Monday to Meridian Community College, 10-8, in eight innings.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 25-15 overall and 8-14 in the MACJC. Holmes hosts Northeast on Wednesday at 2/5 p.m. and Coahoma on Saturday at 1/4 p.m. You can watch the games live at holmesccmedia.com.

Steven Lacey suffered the loss. He went 2 2/3 innings and gave up four runs on five hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Anthony Fidanza and Chris Guthrie also pitched in the game.

Cole Johnson and Austin Telano each had two hits with Telano adding a solo homerun. Taj Porter had a three-run homerun in the game.

Versus Pearl River last Friday, the Bulldogs fell 10-0 and 16-3.

In the first game, Guthrie suffered the loss. He gave up five runs on two hits with three walks. Kameron Ferguson and Dylan Ramsey also pitched in the game. Jimmy Burse, Jaylan Armstrong and Johnathan Evans each had a hit in the game.

In the second game, Albert Hughes suffered the loss. He gave up seven runs on six hits with one strikeout and four walks. Guthrie, Bryland Skinner, Evans and Ramsey also pitched in the game. Hunter Dykes, Jordan Szush and Skinner each had a hit with Szush adding a double.
