Bulldogs split with Coahoma Tigers, 11-1 and 10-8

GOODMAN – The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Tuesday with the Coahoma Community College Tigers, 11-1 and 10-8.

With the split, the Bulldogs went to 26-18 overall and 9-17 in the MACJC. Holmes hosts Southwest on Friday at 1/4 p.m.

In game one, Albert Hughes got the win. He went five innings and gave up one run on six hits with six strikeouts and one walk. Taj Porter led the Bulldogs with three hits with five RBIs including a grand slam homerun. Cade Pinnix and Jordan Szush each had two hits while Jaylan Armstrong added a solo HR.

In game two, Payton Hanson suffered the loss. He went three innings and gave up four runs on three hits with one strikeout. Chris Guthrie, Kameron Ferguson, Dalton Massingill, Ethan Gowan and Dylan Ramsey also pitched in the game. Armstrong led with three hits including a double. Cole Johnson and Anthony Fidanza each had two hits with Fidanza adding a two-run homerun while Johnson added a double. Jimmy Burse also had a double in the game.
