Bulldogs split DH with Millsaps JV

JACKSON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Monday with Millsaps College JV winning 8-1 and falling 11-10.

In game one, Cole Moudy got the start. He went 4 2/3 innings and gave up one run on four hits with seven strikeouts and one walk. John Paul Buckner went 1 1/3 innings and had a strikeout. Jackson Dollar went one inning and gave up one hit with one strikeout.

Matthew Reed, Ethan Wood and John Nolan Pajak each had two hits with Wood adding a double. Carson Buckner had a homerun while Caleb Easterling added a double.

In game two, Wood got the start and went three innings and gave up six runs on six hits with one strikeout and two walks. Justin Jenkins went two innings and gave up four runs on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk while Jackson Dollar went 2/3 of an inning and gave up one run on two hits.

Abbott Hankins, Wood and Carson Buckner each had two hits with Wood adding a double. Reece Smith had a two-run homerun.

In Millington, Tenn. in the season opener, the Bulldogs fell to Jackson State and Chattanooga, 8-7 and 6-2.

Versus Jackson State, Graydon Gulllick got the start and went 3 2/3 innings. Jackson Dollar and Connor Wallace also threw in the game and suffered the loss.

Reed, Wood, Leland Selby and Evan Scott each had two hits in the game with Scott adding a homerun. Reed, Wood and Pajak added a double.

Versus Chattanooga, Jaden Clinton got the start. He went 2 2/3 innings and suffered the loss. John Paul Buckner also went 3 1/3 innings.
