Bulldogs fall to Meridian, 15-3 and 11-10 in eight innings

MERIDIAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell twice here to Meridian on Saturday, 15-3 and 11-10 in eight innings.

Holmes travels to East Mississippi at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

In game one, Abbott Hankins got the start and suffered the loss. He went 4.1 innings and gave up eight runs with three strikeouts and three walks. Graydon Gullick and Leland Selby also pitched in the game. Matthew Reed led with two hits including a double.

In game two, Cameron Pilgrim got the start. Austin Russell, Jackson Dollar, Jaden Clinton, Justin Jenkins, Will Carter and Matthew Reed all pitched in the game. Reed suffered the loss going 1 1/3 innings as Meridian scored in the eighth inning. Parker Knight led with two hits including a double. Carson Buckner had a two-run homerun while Ethan Wood and Reese Smith each added a double.
