Holmes splits with Gulf Coast

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Saturday with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs winning 9-8 and falling 15-6 in game two.

Holmes hosts Northwest at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in a MACCC doubleheader.

In game one, Abbott Hankins got the start and picked up the win. He went six innings and gave up two runs on four hits with one strikeout and three walks. Graydon Gullick and Connor Wallace also pitched in the game.

Matthew Reed led the Bulldogs with three hits including a double. Ethan Wood had two hits with a double.

In game two, Ethan Wood got the start and went one inning. Justin Jenkins, Will Carter, Austin Russell, Cameron Pilgrim, R.J. Merriman, Jackson Dollar, Jaden Clinton and Walker Floyd also pitched in the game with Jenkins suffering the loss.

Parker Knight, Evan Scott and Reed each had two hits with Scott adding two doubles and Knight having one.
