Bulldogs fall to Tigers, 14-2 and 8-7

BOONEVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell here 14-2 and 8-7 in eight innings to the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers.

Holmes hosts East Central at 2/5 p.m. on Saturday.

In game one, Jaden Clinton got the start and suffered the loss. He went two innings and gave up six runs on four hits. R.J. Merriman and Walker Floyd also pitched in the game. Parker Knight led with two hits including a double while Austin Russell added a double.

In game two, Abbott Hankins got the start and went four innings. He gave up three runs on four hits with one strikeout and three walks. Connor Wallace and Austin Russell also pitched in the game. Russell suffered the loss in the eighth inning. Ethan Wood led with three hits with a double while Hunter Barron added two hits. Leland Selby and Russell had a double in the game.

Against Co-Lin on Friday, the Bulldogs split two games falling 14-4 and winning 5-3.

In game one, Cole Moudy got the start. He went 2 2/3 innings and gave up one run on one hit with one strikeout and three walks. Justin Jenkins, Jackson Dollar and Jaden Clinton also pitched in the game. Jenkins suffered the loss in the contest. Parker Knight and John Nolan Pajak each had two hits with Leland Selby and Jack Hirchert adding a double.

In game two, John Paul Buckner went seven innings. He gave up three runs on five hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Parker Knight, Ethan Wood and Leland Selby each had two hits with Wood adding a homerun and Adam Francisco adding a double.

Against Southwest on April 10, the Bulldogs fell 5-4 and 16-2.

In game one, Graydon Gullick got the start and went eight innings. He gave up five runs on eight hits with one strikout and three walks. Matthew Reed and Leland Selby each had three hits with Selby and John Nolan Pajak adding a double.

In game two, Abbott Hankins got the start and suffered the loss. Jackson Dollar, Justin Jekins, Jaden Clinton, Hayden Bosarge and R.J. Merriman pitched in the game. Ethan Wood led with three hits while Parker Knight had two.
