Bulldogs fall in MACCC openers at Jones

ELLISVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell twice here to the Jones College Bobcats, 10-1 and 6-3.

Holmes will travel to Itawamba on Wednesday for a 2/5 p.m. doubleheader in Fulton.

In game one, Aidan Bellman got the start and suffered the loss. He went seven innings and gave up eight runs on 10 hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Carson Moon made his first appearance of the season in one inning of work. He gave up two runs on two hits with one strikeout and three walks. Walker Long, Hunter Azemar, Jacob Lott and Andrew Dinkelacker each had one hit.

In game two, Hunter Bethel got the start and suffered the loss in 4 2/3 innings. He gave up four runs on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Josh Fleming went 1 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on one hit with one strikeout and three walks. Hunter Azemar led the Bulldogs in hitting with three hits including a homerun and two doubles.
