Bulldogs split with Indians

FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Wednesday with the Itawamba Community College Indians winning 6-5 in 10 innings and falling 16-6 in game two.

Holmes is scheduled to host Meridian in Goodman on Saturday at 2/5 p.m.

In game one, Cole Moudy got the start and went six innings and gave up two runs on two hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Holton Hartzog went four innings and picked up the win. He gave up three runs on one hit with six strikeouts and one walk.

Nicolas Schwing had three hits for the Bulldogs while Hunter Azemar, Hunter Bethel and Andrew Dinkelacker each had two. Azemar had a two-run homerun while Brenden Skirtech added a double.

In game two, Skirtech got the start and suffered the loss. He went two innings and gave up three runs on three hits with four walks. Seth Terrell, Houston Wedgeworth and Drew Newman also pitched in the game.

Azemar and Skirtech each had two hits with Skirtech having two doubles with Azemar and Adam Francisco each having one double.
