Cheer tryouts set for Thursday, March 31 in Frank Branch Coliseum

The Holmes Community College Cheer Squad will hold tryouts on Thursday, March 31 at 3 p.m. in Frank Branch Coliseum. The cost of the tryout is $10 per person and each participant must have a current physical.

The squad is offering open gym dates to prepare for the tryouts on Tuesday, March 8 at 3:00, Tuesday, March 22 at 3:00, Monday, March 28 at 3:00 and Tuesday, March 29 at 3:00. These will be held in the cheer gym located in the Vocational-Technical Building on the Goodman Campus.

A stunt clinic is set for March 6 from 3-5 p.m. for cheerleaders in grades 9-college. Cost is $25.

Stunting Requirements :
Male – Toss Chair (all males)
            Shoulder Stands (all males)
            Coed – toss extension
                         lib (difficulty varies)
            Multibase – quick toss lib
                                   Elite stunt
***Tumbling is not required, but highly recommended***

All Female – toss straddle (either base or top)
                   Shoulder stand (either base or top)

                                   Toss Extension
                                   Lib (Difficulty Varies)
                                   Elite Transitional Stunt

Female Multibase Top –  toss chair
