Bullldogs fall to Coahoma Tigers, 41-10

GOODMAN --- The Coahoma Community College Tigers scored the first 20 points of the contest in the first half and cruised to a 41-10 win here tonight.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 0-5 on the season and 0-3 in the North Division. Holmes will be on the road at Pearl River Community College next Thursday night at 7 p.m.

Coahoma's first score came at the end of the first quarter on a 21-yard run. The extra point was no good, and the Tigers led 6-0.

The Tigers added another score with 12:52 left in the second on a 29-yard touchdown pass. They added the two-point conversion to lead 14-0.

Coahoma added another score with 8:31 left in the second quarter. The extra point was no good, and the Tigers led 20-0.

The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard with 2:13 left in the second quarter when Kerrick Ross broke loose on a 44-yard touchdown run. Luke Moffett's extra point was good. Coahoma led 20-7.

The Tigers added one more score before halftime with 34 seconds left on a five-yard pass. The extra point was no good, and Coahoma led 26-7 at halftime

Coahoma added a field goal with 8:34 left in the third to lead 29-7.

The Tigers increased the lead to 35-7 with 11:47 left in the fourth on a 39-yard pass. The extra point was blocked by Johnathan Wallace.

The Bulldogs' final score came with 9:32 in the game when Moffett nailed a 41-yard field goal.

Coahoma took advantage of a Bulldog miscue and picked up a fumble and raced 73 yards for the score. The extra point was no good ending all scoring at 41-10.

Kyren Batey led the Bulldogs' rushing attack with 69 yards on 12 carries. Ross had two carries for 52 yards.

D'Arrion Washington led the Bulldogs with seven solo tackles including one sack and two tackles for loss. Duke Arnold had five tackles and three assisted tackles tackles while Jordan Milton had five tackles and two assisted tackles with two tackles for loss. Zak Morris had four tackles and two assisted tackles while LaDarrius Knighten had three tackles and three assisted.
