GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell in a heartbreaker to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers, 83-81.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 14-8 overall and 6-5 in the North. Holmes ends the regular season on the road at Itawamba Thursday in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
Holmes led 47-39 at halftime, and the Rangers outscored the Bulldogs, 44-34, in the second half to pull out the win.
The Bulldogs shot 40 percent from the floor (30-of-75) 34.5 percent from the three-point line (10-of-29) and 73.3 percent from the free-throw line (11-of-15).
Czar Perry led the Bulldogs with 27 points while Kassim Nicholson had 22. Nicholson led the Bulldogs with nine rebounds.
