Higgins and Weatherspoon named to the All-MACCC North Team

Two Holmes Community College Bulldogs --- Kaleb Higgins and Brandon Weatherspoon, have been named to the All-MACCC North Team. Higgins was named First Team All-MACCC and MVP while Weatherspoon was named to the Second Team.

Higgins from Pine Bluff, Ark. leads the Bulldogs in scoring with a 19.9 per game average. Up until this point, Higgins is shooting 46.6 percent from the floor (118-of-253), 42 percent from the three point line (42-of-100) and 87.1 percent from the free throw line (81-of-93). He is averaging 4.9 rebounds per game, 4.8 assists per game and 1.3 steals per game. He has scored 359 points this season. In the recent Region XXIII Tournament games, he scored 23 vs. Gulf Coast, 18 vs. LSUE, 26 vs. Pearl River and 14 vs. Northeast in the championship game.

Weatherspoon from Canton averaged 15.9 points per game during the season so far. Up until this point, Weatherspoon is shooting 51.9 percent from the floor (81-of-156), 46.2 percent from the three point line (42-of-91) and 70 percent from the free throw line (35-of-50). He is averaging 5 rebounds per game, 1.1 assists per game and 1.1 steals per game. He has scored 239 points this season. In the Region XXIII Tournament games, he scored 20 vs. Gulf Coast, 28 vs. LSUE, 6 vs. Pearl River and 22 vs. Northeast in the championship game.

HIggins, Weatherspoon and Tyler Talley were named to the Region XXIII Tournament Team while Head Coach Jason Flanigan was named Coach of the Year.
